Park Family Model Shoot Experience – The West Family

A Q&A with the winners of our Park Family Competition.

Every year we run the Park Family competition, a chance for lucky families to be the face of the Park Holidays UK’s website and brochures for 2019/20. Lucky winners get to stay at one of our holiday parks, and take part in a professional photoshoot.

In this post, one of our winners – the West Family, comprising mum Leanne, dad Gareth, daughter Andraya (age 5) and grandparents Trevor and Claire describe their experience as a model family at Broadland Sands Holiday Park. Leanne answers the questions.

How did it feel to have your very own professional photoshoot?

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Mark and Paul, the photographers who did the Park Family photoshoot. We were a little nervous and like most parents/grandparents much more equipped to being on the other side of the camera capturing the memories.

We had nothing to be anxious about as they were such fun and so enthusiastic throughout our time with them. They clearly explained the day's itinerary and it was very exciting having our very own photoshoot. We felt at ease from the start and really enjoyed our time with them.

How did you find your holiday park – Broadland Sands in Suffolk?

Our stay at Broadland Sands was 5* and we hope to return next year.

We spent two days with Mark and Paul the photographers so had plenty of time to explore the surrounding area. There are some fantastic restaurants nearby and some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in the U.K. Stunning spots for family walks and when the weather gets chilly a trip to Great Yarmouth for the arcades is always fun. We came home with lots of cuddly friends thanks to a very lucky grandad playing on the claw machines.

The new pool and Dino golf is fantastic, the food is great and the entertainment was second to none. The team works so hard to put on a great show and you can see that they clearly love what they do. My daughter Andraya still tells me daily how much she misses Paige - and Loopy of course.

What will be your most treasured memory of your experience?

Being a Park Family was a lot more fun than I ever could have imagined. My family all agree that the two days spent with Mark and Paul doing the photo shoots was the highlight of our holiday. We absolutely loved it!

How does it compare holidaying in the UK instead of going abroad?

I am a big fan of UK holidays as some of my most memorable breaks away as a child were spent in the UK. Broadland Sands has fantastic facilities which are perfect for all ages. My parents and I loved the bingo, whilst my husband liked the late night entertainment.

Our daughter, Andraya enjoyed crafting and learning new dances during the day. We are now pros at the park dance routines thanks to Loopy and friends, and plan to use these dance moves at our next Park Holidays UK break which we have just booked for July.

Would you be a Park Family again?

If we were ever given the chance to be a Park Family again we wouldn’t hesitate. We have such fond memories of our break away, we loved every minute.

What would you say to anyone who’s unsure about entering themselves to become a Park Family?

If anyone is thinking of entering their family to be the next face of Park Holidays UK I would say go for it and please can you pack me in your suitcase!
