Caravan Holidays in Essex

Essex is a popular destination, with lots to see and do for a visiting holiday guest. It is a land of wonderful contrasts, the bright lights of resorts like Clacton, to the tranquil coastline around Maldon.

With four parks in the area offering caravan and lodge holidays we will have a location to suit your family holiday. You will discover great visitor attractions, picturesque countryside and beautiful beaches on your visit to Essex. More hidden treasures to be found including historic sites, market towns, villages, coastal pathways and a whole range of traditional seaside fun!

With one of the longest coastlines in England you can enjoy lengthy stretches of ‘Blue Flag’ beaches and a variety of water-based activities. If you’ve never tried “Push-Kiting” - in a nutshell it’s surfing the waves propelled by the power of a kite - this might be the time to give it a go!

If you prefer to keep the spray at arm’s length why not visit the SeaQuarium at Clacton Pier where you can view many of the fish that frequent the local sea area? Clacton Pier offers more traditional seaside fun including rides, arcades, ten pin bowling and of course, strolling along the promenade with ice cream in hand (striped bathing suit optional). Seaside resorts like Clacton-on-Sea are hugely popular these days having experienced a trendy revival and are great places to spend the day.

Other places you must visit during your Essex stay include Colchester Zoo, which houses over 260 species of exotic animals and a host of interactive displays. There’s also Colchester Castle Museum which dates from as far back as 1076. This Norman Castle is one of the first stone castles in England and now home to a fascinating museum.

The East Anglian Railway Museum is also worth a look for those with even a passing interest in railway history; original Victorian buildings, restored trains, carriages and Signal Boxes tell a unique story of the age of rail. Or follow the Maritime Trail in Harwich (guided tours available) which takes in the Low Lighthouse Maritime Museum and the Lifeboat Museum, including a boat ride to the Barge Murals (look out for the legendary Treadwheel Crane).

If all that sounds a bit educational for a fun time holiday perhaps a trip to Adventure Island (Southend on Sea) or Promenade Park (Maldon) is in order. Adventure Island is traditional fun with a pier and fun park featuring over 40 rides and attractions, while Promenade Park includes an ornamental lake, play area and Water Splash Park - so bring your swimming cossies!
