Caravan, Villa and Lodge Holiday Homes – so what’s the difference?

Before taking the initial step into holiday home ownership, it is worth finding out all there is to know about the different types of UK Holiday Homes available - so you can discover exactly which model type is right for you and your family.

One of the most common questions our team get asked is the difference between a ‘static caravan’, our ‘villa collection’ and a ‘luxury lodge’. They vary in subtle (and not so subtle) ways so a bit of research can pay dividends.

Circumstances of every potential owner are, of course unique. Below we will help you understand the different types of holiday homes available, hopefully helping in your exciting search for that perfect UK holiday retreat.

What is a Static Caravan?

A static caravan is also known as a holiday home. Unlike a traditional touring caravan which can be attached to a vehicle and driven from place to place, a static caravan will be delivered to, and then set at a fixed pitch location on one holiday park. A static caravan often offers much more space than a traditional touring caravan with models available up to 40 feet long and 14 feet wide.

Built for all seasons, modern static caravans now offer warmth and comfort, with double glazing and central heating as standard.

Static caravans come in a variety of shapes and sizes with popular manufacturers including ABI, Willerby, Pemberton, Delta and many more.

They are the ideal choice for those new to holiday home ownership who want to experience the lifestyle, possibly before looking into something bigger or more luxurious.

Most Villas include specifications such as extra size models, free standing furniture with complementing fabrics and soft furnishing, designer-inspired kitchens and integrated appliances. They have 2 or 3 bedrooms plus an en-suite shower room, family bathroom with modern suite, bath and overhead shower.

Our Villa models are: ABI Beaumont, Willerby Sheraton, Pemberton Park Lane, Delta Cambridge, Willerby Robertsbridge, Pemberton Knightsbridge.

What is a Luxury Lodge?

A lodge is one of the most luxurious holiday homes currently available to buy in the UK. Offering up to 800 square foot of space, a lodge provides plenty of room, and amazing comfort.

Naturally, double glazing and central heating comes as standard but there’s a huge range of extra benefits from choosing a luxury lodge model.

They enjoy spacious open plan lounges, stylish designer kitchens and two or three bedrooms, often with en-suite bathrooms. With architect-designed elevations they look as stunningly good from the outside as they do on the inside.

Built for all seasons, a luxury lodge offers high specification interiors, décor, appliances and fittings including; free-standing bath, walk-in wardrobes and more. All of our Luxury Lodges include decking so fans of the outdoors can relax during the sunnier months and those warm summer evenings.

Ideal for entertaining the whole family, a luxury lodge is a real home from home, ideal for those wanting to experience the ultimate in holiday home ownership.
