But how long can you actually stay in one? The answer depends on the holiday park’s rules and how long it stays open each year.
A lot of people ask if they can live in a holiday home permanently. The simple answer is no. Most holiday parks have licenses that only allow them to be used for holidays, not as a main home. Even if a holiday park is open all year, it’s still for holiday use only.
Living somewhere full-time means using it as your main home. You'll still need a home address for things like:
- Council tax
- Bills and banking
- Getting post delivered
- Registering with a local doctor
- Official documents.
Councils and holiday parks check for full-time residency, and you could be asked to leave if you’re staying longer than allowed. Always make sure you have a permanent address elsewhere to avoid these issues.
