Walking holidays in the Peak District

Discover the region's many walks

If you love the great outdoors and spectacular scenery then walking holidays in the Peak District really do take some beating!

Our two Derbyshire holiday parks, Ashbourne Heights and Newhaven provide a great base from which to explore the local area and its many walking routes and footpaths, including the popular Tissington Trail which is located at the entrance to our park.

You can choose to follow national or local trails or simply take advantage of some 200 square miles of open access land or 1,800 miles of public rights of way.

To help inspire you, we've put together a guide to a few of just some of the dozens of walks and routes you can enjoy close to our park…

The Tissington Trail sits at the entrance to Ashbourne Heights and is enjoyed by cyclists and those who love walking, with 13 miles of traffic-free trail which follows the former Buxton to Ashbourne railway.

Should you only fancy a short stroll the trail is perfect too, and there are plenty of information points and picnic areas to enjoy. A must try during your stay with us!

The Pennine Way

The Pennine Way

This is a popular route and follows the rugged backbone of England from Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District, at 2,087 ft, spanning three of the England’s national parks.

Though the path is often challenging you’re rewarded with some of the most breathtaking views in the country, and it is something of a must for keen walkers.

Another well-travelled route is the Trans Pennine Trail, which is part of a European walking route and cuts through the stunning limestone scenery.
