The Best Destinations for Coastal Getaways in Autumn/Winter

We’re extending our season into November and December at 10 of our holiday parks. Find out why now is a great time to book with us and discover the top twenty beach resorts to visit in the UK.

The typical holiday season has been a little different, with many of us staying on UK shores and taking a well-earned holiday later in the year. As a nation, we particularly love a seaside break and a Great British seaside staycation is on the cards for half of us at some point in the next three months.

74% of Brits are planning an autumn / winter coastal staycation ( in the next six months)

Here at Park Holidays, we’ve seen more demand for autumn/winter coastal breaks than ever, which is why we have decided to extend our usual season and welcome guests until the week before Christmas at 9 of our parks. You can now book a late-autumn break with us.

Even though our November and December breaks offer no facilities during your stay, we pride ourselves on our locations and great value self-catering accommodation, especially when compared to nearby hotel breaks.

Recent studies show that searches for caravan holidays almost doubled in 2021 versus 2020

So, what makes an out-of-season holiday on the coast so great? Well, we especially love taking long walks on the beaches, which are typically a lot quieter at this time of year - but just as beautiful!

To help you find the best coastal destination for your autumn/winter holiday, we have done some research, and we’re proud to say that many of the top ten locations are close to Park Holidays resorts.

We began by researching the nation’s favourite beaches in the UK (this gave us a list of 80 places). We then looked at accommodation options, nearby fish & chip shops, average weather, and even each beach’s cleanliness rating (because while we know you’re unlikely to be swimming, it’s nice to walk on a lovely clean beach).

So where came out on top?
