Easter activities in Kent 2019

Easter is soon approaching, which means two things – 1. Yay! Four day weekend! And 2. Oh, two weeks school holidays for the kids… what do we do?!
Well, fear not, we have heard your panicky-parent thoughts and have come to your rescue. We’ve rounded up nine Easter-themed events in Kent that we’re sure you’ll all love (there’s even a couple just for adults, too!). So, come rain or shine, there is plenty happening to keep you and the kids busy.

Mount Ephraim Gardens – Easter Egg Trail
To celebrate the gardens reopening for the spring and summer, Mount Ephraim Gardens will be putting on a special Easter egg trail. Seek out the giant hand-painted eggs around the gardens, taste some yummy treats in the Tea Room, and watch some beautiful bird displays.
When? Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd April
What time? Opens at 11am
How much? £7 adults, £2.50 children (aged 4 – 16), £17 family ticket (2 adults and 2 children)

Kent Life – Spring Into Easter
During the Easter period, Kent Life has many activities happening such as Easter bonnet making, feeding of their lambs, farm rides, a bouncy castle, donkey rides, and much more! Plus, if you visit their ‘Big Top’, then you can catch an Easter show, or even create an Easter-themed masterpiece in their Paint-a-Pot studio to take home.
When? Friday 19th to Monday 22nd April
What time? 10am – 6pm

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve – BBQ and Sunday dinner
Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve are bringing you some tasty food over the Easter weekend! On Friday, pop into the hotel and enjoy a delicious BBQ meal, which will be served on the Iceberg Terrace, featuring all of your barbeque favourites, plus vegetarian and vegan options. No pre-booking required.
When? Friday 19th April
What time? 11.30am – 2.30pm
How much? Dishes will be priced individually
And on Sunday, choose from lunch or dinner, and enjoy a delicious Sunday roast. Please note that entrance to Port Lympne Reserve is not included in either the BBQ or roast dinner prices, and tables over 8 people cannot be accommodated in the Port Lympne Restaurant. Pre-booking is required.

What time? Lunch 12pm – 3pm and dinner 6pm – 9pm

Brogdale Collections – Easter Activities
There’s plenty of Easter related fun to be had at Brogdale Collections! See if you can find all of the hidden giant Easter eggs by following their special trail map, take a trip on the fun tractor trailer, get crafty and have some fun making some fantastic Easter crafts to take home, including Easter baskets and bunny masks – cute!

Thanet Easter Beer & Cider Festival
For the 14th year, Thanet brings you their annual Beer & Cider Festival over the Easter weekend. With entertainment both days from Gaddzukes, hot and cold food available, and of course, all the beer and cider you could wish for, this is sure to be a fun-filled day.
When? Friday 19th and Saturday 20th April
What time? 12pm – 10pm (Friday) and 12pm – 7pm (Saturday)
How much? £6 Friday and £3 Saturday pp

Olby’s Soul Café - Gems Jams Easter Extravaganza
Have you ever experienced soul, disco, funk, garage, jungle, house, AND pop music all under one roof? Well, then you’ve never experienced a Gems Jams Extravaganza before! Across three interconnecting rooms, enjoy all kinds of music and have a ‘merry Margate time’!
When? Saturday 20th April
What time? 8pm – 2am
How much? Early bird tickets £5 (+ booking fee), then £7.50 (+ booking fee in advance) and £10 on the door

Faversham – Easter Hat Parade
Led by the Easter bunny, the Mayor, and Mayoress of Faversham, join in or simply admire this fabulous display of colour and creativity. The annual hat parade will start in West Street and process around the market stalls, ending with a prize giving ceremony at 12 Market Place. There’s also a hat making workshop taking place at the House of the Crafty Fox. Not to be missed!

Belmont House & Gardens – Easter at Belmont
Join Belmont for their Easter themed fun and take part in their outdoor Easter trail around the beautiful grounds for a yummy chocolate treat. They’re also holding crafty Easter activities in the Orangery where you and the little ones can let your creative juices flow!
When? Sunday 21st April
What time? 11am – 3pm

Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway
Have a family day out at the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway and enjoy a variety of activities including unlimited trips in the vintage style railway carriages, small exhibits, woodland walks, yummy treats in the tea room, and of course, a special Easter egg hunt for the little ones.
