South coast holidays could be perfect for indulging foodie desires
Holidays on England's south coast could be perfect when it comes to catering for one of Britons' greatest desires – food.
According to new research by Churchill Travel Insurance, a large number of travellers will over indulge while on a vacation, leading to a quarter of people opting for a post-holiday diet.
The study found that the typical tourist spends £610 during a two-week break, which is £43 a day per person.
While foreign foods may appeal to many, those who wish to stay at home this summer can rest assured there is plenty of top cuisine on offer in the UK.
Trying delicious seafood in Devon and Cornwall, or local cheeses in the West Country, is a tasty treat well worth considering.
And one of the best places to start may well be the Newquay Fish Festival, which VisitCornwall has recently revealed will get underway in the coastal town on September 9th and run for three days.
