Londoners offered new travel options for West Country holidays
Londoners who dream of getting out of the city for a few days and taking in the fresh air, beauty and attractions of the West Country can now do so by using a special train service.
The Stroud Special is set to run from Paddington station for the first time on September 2nd and will take passengers to the heart of the Cotswolds, from where much of the region is accessible.
However, those heading to the south-west in the coming weeks could find plenty to do in Gloucestershire itself, as the Stroud Festival Fortnight kicks off on the day of the first service.
The train line has been set up with the intention of transporting tourists to their destination.
It is to be operated with the help of First Great Western, which already provides commuter trains between the locations.
Another festival option set to be popular is the Island Steam Show on the Isle of Wight, which is due to take place this weekend.
