Caravan park could provide base for walking holiday
Older people looking for somewhere to get away from it all for a few days or a week might wish to consider a caravan park in the south of England, from where numerous walking adventures are available.
That is because Alison Wyndham, physiotherapist and founder of the Wyndham Centres, said walking is the perfect activity for those of advancing years.
She recommended taking up the pursuit, with its benefits including the ability to control arthritis and strengthen muscles.
"Walking is probably the best exercise of all. If you have shoulder problems, you can bring in gentle neck and shoulder exercises and go through the motions of each movement," Ms Wyndham stated.
A walking holiday in the south should also result in a "feel-good factor" among those who visit, if the expert is to be believed.
One possible destination is Devon, which Virginia Spiers, writing for the Guardian, recently described as an idyllic natural setting.
