Angling may be an option for south coast holidaymakers
People on holiday on the south coast this summer may be in ideal surroundings to take up angling or to continue their passion.
Naidre Werner, chairman of the Angling Trades Association, explained the activity is still very popular in the UK.
Indeed, it is close to the top of the list of highest participation sports in the country and recent studies have revealed that nine per cent of the adult population have been fishing in the last year, the expert noted.
A break in Britain can be the perfect chance to visit a local river or coastline and enjoy the pursuit once more.
However, Mr Werner reminded people to check they are insured, particularly if they are using their own rod and equipment as this is not cheap.
Chris Dee, tourism manager at Cotswolds and Forest of Dean Tourism, recently nominated the West Country region as a "romantic destination" for British holidaymakers.
