Peak week pay-outs now top £5k for owners

People who turn their holiday homes into cash generators during the school summer holidays are now scooping pay-outs of up to £5,500 each.

That's the finding of Park Holidays UK after a recent analysis of earning patterns among customers who sub-let during the season of peak demand.

The group says that many owners let go of just six weeks in July and August to maximise income, and then enjoy well over 40 weeks of their own exclusive use.

But such people aren't necessarily missing out on a summer break, says Park Holidays UK, because what they earn can more than cover the cost of a holiday abroad.

Others simply prefer to make use of their holiday homes outside the main summer season, and to leave the busier weeks to fun-loving families and children.

Those buying now at the start of the school holidays are likely to see their investment make an immediate return on its sub-letting potential, says Park Holidays UK.

They will also be able to take advantage of the group's current Red Ticket sale which is seeing discounts and incentives across its 27 parks in southern England.

As well as substantial price reductions on new caravan holiday homes and lodges, most models come with no pitch fees payable throughout this year and 2018.

In other words, says Park Holidays UK, sub-letting in summer could see virtually all of the owner's running expenses covered until the end of next year.

The company's letting programme for holiday home owners takes care of all advertising, bookings, payments, safety checks, and cleaning after guests leave.

Even when commission and other charges are deducted, holiday home owners will be left with well over fifty percent of the letting price which can be up to £465 a week in high season.

There are also sub-letting opportunities right throughout the year with owners able to cherry-pick the dates they wish to keep for themselves.

Buying-to-let at the peak times of the year, says Park Holidays UK, is especially appealing for more mature people who are not tied to school holidays.
