Space race sees 2017 holiday home prices tumble

With the clock ticking on new arrivals of 2018 models, Park Holidays UK has taken the decision to strip literally thousands of pounds from the price of its 2017 stock.

The holiday homes are largely ex-display models which must now make way on park showgrounds for the new autumn deliveries from UK manufacturers.

It says the end-of-season discounts – which see new holiday homes starting from £35,000 - are higher than normal due to the volume of 2018 models scheduled for delivery.

Park Holidays UK says it has approximately eight weeks from September to free up as much showground display space as possible – and is anticipating a heavy demand.

The 2017 stock ranges from starter-models aimed at first-time buyers to top-end caravan holiday homes and lodges with full luxury specifications.

There are opportunities across the group's 28 Southern England holiday parks, and all models are guaranteed unused, and will be sold fully equipped and furnished.

In another move designed to encourage quick decisions, Park Holidays UK is also offering buyers free pitch fees both for the remainder of this year, and for the whole of 2018.

Other incentives are available on selected models – and low-deposit finance can also be provided if families prefer not to use their own funds.

Although the high season is officially coming to an end, says Park Holidays UK, the holiday year still has a long way to run for anybody choosing to buy now.

That's because most of the company's parks are open for 11.5 months of the year, so new owners can take advantage of late summer, autumn and winter-time stays.

And because the 2017 models are already located on the parks, they can be commissioned and handed over to families within days of the sale being finalised.

For many buyers, says Park Holidays UK, that will mean they will still be able to enjoy some autumn sunshine whilst basking in thousands of pounds' worth of savings.

This year, the company reports, its parks have benefitted from massive investments to extend even further the range of facilities and attractions available to owners.

And, it says, the spending is far from over – for in 2018, more than £20 million has been earmarked for additional improvements from swimming pools to clubhouses.
