From park to pier: luxury holiday home makes waves at Hastings
The end of pier show at Hastings is now guaranteed a full house, thanks to Park Holidays UK which has just installed a 40-foot luxury holiday home above the pier's crashing waves.
For the next four weeks, visitors to the town's iconic 140-year-old structure will be invited to open the doors and inspect a super-modern holiday home… with the best sea views in Britain.
The idea of showcasing a holiday home on the pier came from the five holiday parks in Sussex which are members of Park Holidays UK.
Based in popular seaside locations along the county's coast, each has an extensive range of holiday homes available to view for families thinking of a new leisure lifestyle.
But according to Tony Clish, director of the 28-park group, not everyone is familiar with why the ownership of leisure homes continues to gain ground in popularity:
"Many people are astonished at the levels of luxury on offer as well as the low outlay involved – and wonder why they hadn't heard about this lifestyle before," said Tony.
"That's why we decided to take a holiday home off the park and onto the pier which is one of Hastings' busiest and most popular visitor attractions.
"It was a massive operation, but I suspect that the holiday home will now prove to be a major talking point – and possibly one of the most photographed properties in Sussex!" he added.
On show is 40 x 13 foot BK Robertsbridge holiday home, made by UK manufacturer Willerby which specialises in top-end models.
The two-bedroom holiday home has a large open-plan living space, and a host of luxury touches including a modern fully-fitted kitchen with all the latest appliances, and a built-in music system.
There's also extensive glazing, a generous bathroom, an en-suite to the master bedroom, central heating and high levels of insulation to minimise energy costs.
Prices start from £74,995.00 which includes all furnishings and equipment plus outdoor decking.
The five East Sussex parks showcased are open for up to 11.5 months of the year, meaning the owners can enjoy short breaks and longer stays throughout the four seasons.
Owners also have use of all the parks' leisure facilities including swimming pools, children's activities, and professional family-friendly cabaret shows every night in season.
The five parks are Beauport Holiday Park and Coghurst Hall Holiday Park in Hastings, Rye Harbour Holiday Park, Winchelsea Sands Holiday Park, and Pevensey Bay Holiday Park.
Information is available from company advisers on the pier, and bookings can also be made for no-obligation visits to the parks for an informal look-around.
