Folk singer Joan Baez to perform in Ipswich

Folk singer Joan Baez to perform in Ipswich

Inspirational American folk singer Joan Baez is set for a gig in Ipswich, it has been confirmed.

The prominent human rights activist, who has sang and represented some of the most important parts of the 20th Century, will be appearing at the Ipswich Regent and Corn Exchange Theatre on Monday 12 March.

Renowned for her topical songs and liberal views, Baez began her recording career in 1960 and achieved immediate success, with her first three albums reaching gold record status; whilst she also introduced fellow songwriter Bob Dylan to the world before a stellar career put Baez firmly in the musical mainstream.

Her influence outside of music is just as strong, having marched on the front line of the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King, standing alongside Nelson Mandela for his 90th birthday and hosted a free concert in Washington opposing the Vietnam War.

Should you be staying in one of the picturesque caravan parks located near Ipswich, then this could be the perfect addition to your British holiday.
