Chichester Festival Theatre in line for funding boost
The Chichester Festival Theatre looks set to receive a financial boost after the Arts Council England (ACE) confirmed the venue is one of 26 successful applicants in the first stage of its latest large-scale capital funding programme.
The landmark theatre, which is in the process of securing the funds it needs for its ambitious £22m 50th anniversary redevelopment programme, is through to the next stage of the application procedure.
Should the institution be successful in its quest for funding, it will be granted £12m to help transform areas of the theatre.
Alan Davey, chief executive of ACE, said: “This programme is about backing a wide range of really exciting proposals to make sure the arts infrastructure is in place for organisations to thrive, for the benefit of artists and audiences across the country.”
It could be a great event to enjoy for any of those staying in one of the fabulous holiday parks in around Chichester.
