Bingo Winner Lucky Laura Scoops £12,000

When Laura Wheeler sat down to play Super Seven Bingo at Golden Sands holiday park in Dawlish this week, she didn't stay seated for long.

Just minutes after the game began, holidaymaker Laura leapt to her feet £12,000 richer after all her winning numbers came up, and finished on the magic seven!

But it wasn't just Laura (aged 21) who struck gold at Golden Sands. Every card holder in the club that night - around 250 people in total - shared in an additional £12,000 pay-out.

That came to around £50 per head, and signalled the start of a night of celebrations in the park's popular clubhouse.

The precise figure on Laura's cheque was £12,312.55, and represented half of the rolled-over jackpot on offer that night, the balance being shared between other playing guests.

Laura, who said the most she has ever won before was £100 on a scratch-card, joined in the game mid-way through her week-long break at Golden Sands.

A resident of Tipton near Birmingham, Laura was holidaying at the park with her partner Danny, her mum Anne and dad Kevin, and two aunts.

It wasn't her first taste of Golden Sands life, however. Laura has been visiting the park regularly since she was a baby - and her parents have been taking holidays there for even longer!

"It was a fantastic moment when I realised that I had called on the super seven!" said Laura who works as a Customer Task Manager at the Walsall branch of Morrisons supermarket.

"I've never got this lucky before, so this is going to be one very special holiday at Golden Sands I'll be remembering for the rest of my life!" added Laura who plans to buy a new car with her winnings.

Even more excitingly for Laura, her family's long relationship with the park could soon be passed down to another generation - for recently Laura received the great news that she was pregnant!
