Why Kaye's on cloud nine after holiday home win!

Congratulations to Kaye Wotherspoon!

Former British Airways employee Kaye Wotherspoon is flying high this spring after landing a brand new caravan holiday home in a national draw.

Kaye, from Brentford in Middlesex, beat thousands of other entries to win the keys to a fully equipped luxury leisure home at Seawick Holiday Park in St Osyth, near Clacton.

The draw was organised by park owners Park Holidays UK, and Kaye was able to choose from the 3 of the group's 26 top-rated parks as the location for her prize. She opted for Seawick because of the happy memories she treasures of a holiday on the park last year with her two grandchildren, Ruby (8) and George (8).

Kaye, who has two grown-up children of her own, was widowed more than 25 years ago and says that since then, the opportunities for holidays have been few and far between. But she enjoyed her stay at Seawick so much last year that she took her grandchildren on a second break, to Park Holidays UK's New Beach Holiday Park in Dymchurch, Kent.

Similar caravan holiday homes to Kaye's prize, a three-bedroom Willerby Etchingham model with double-glazing and central heating, sell at the park for up to £36,995. Like other holiday owners at Seawick, Kaye and her young guests will have use of the park's extensive leisure facilities in which more than £3m has recently been invested. They include a new swimming pool complex and entertainment centre staging nightly shows.

Now Kaye, who was once PA to the finance director at British Airways, can look forward to taking holidays through 50 weeks of the year at Seawick.

Kaye says she rarely enters competitions and has never won any type of prize before so the news of her success, she said, almost knocked her sideways: "I just kept reading the letter over and over again, and I simply couldn't believe it. I was so gobsmacked that this was happening to me!" she said. "We all loved Seawick so much last year, and I especially enjoyed the park's friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It really feels just like a home-from-home. "Being right next to the beach is also great, and there's such a lot on the park for all ages. "It will be wonderful to be able to have my grandchildren staying with me here for holidays, and I also intend to bring some of my own friends for breaks during the week. "I'll also be able to let my children and their families use the holiday home for escapes so all in all, this will bring loads of pleasure to many people!" added Kaye.

Although officially retired, Kaye keeps herself busy with campaigning work on behalf of animal rights, and teaching vegan cookery to youngsters in local schools.
